THE BERLIN WALL

A city divided: From 1961 until 1989 The Wall separated East from West.
The Berlin Wall has long since disappeared from reunified Berlin. Memories of the Wall, however, are still very much alive, and many of the visitors who come from all over the world are disappointed or surprised to find that so little remains of Berlin’s most infamous structure. The two halves of the city, separated for decades, have in fact been visibly reunited.

A wealth of melodious sounds

Berlin's eight large symphony orchestras, including the world famous Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, make it a veritable paradise for classical music lovers from across the globe. Berlin is also the only city in the world to boast three large opera houses. A number of other large orchestras, houses specializing in opera and classical music, illustrious festivals and a magnificent summer open-air season all combine to create a glorious fusion of melodious sounds.

Berlin is the city of the muses, artists and museums! Berlin has over 170 museums packed with the world's art treasures and fascinating historical exhibitions spanning the centuries!  The city’s museums host stunning world cultural treasures, from the magnificent Pergamon Altar to the incredibly beautiful bust of Nefertiti, from Old Masters to iconic contemporary art.
But is also home to an amazing creative pool of art producers - more than 6000 artists and cultural workers busily creating the dynamic young art for tomorrow's collections.

BERLIN’S ARCADIA

The cultural inheritance of Berlin leaves numerous castles and artfully formed gardens. With the ascension of Prussia dense cultural landscape arose in and around Berlin with splendid castle and gardens. In the midst of large parks with vantage points, pavilions and sculptures there are unique examples of courtly architecture which spread the glance of yesteryears. Besides, many castles accommodate prominent art collections which have found a suitable frame in the preciously decorated halls.

BERLIN...CITY OF DESIGN

Berlin's architecture, culture and fashion reflect the city's charismatic flair. The pioneering spirit of this work in progress is a constant source of inspiration for artists, resulting in innovative and varied designs.
The dazzling creativity of the city's designers, fashion moguls, photographers, architects and musicians prompted UNESCO to designate Berlin the first German City of Design.

BERLIN’S CUISINE

Berlin's typical dish is simple and yet satisfying. In cosy atmosphere the guest is served plain fare. Probably best known dish is the "Boulette" (fried meatballs). Referring to drinks the "Berliner Weiße" (beer with juice) is considered well-known even beyond the city's boundaries. However, the Berlin region offers a great variety of tasteful dishes you should not miss.

CLIMATE

Berlin lies between oceanic and continental stamped climate. During the summer-months daily-temperatures reach 22-23 °C (72°F), but there are also days with temperatures up to 30°C (86°F).
